Head Spa
What is a Japanese head spa?
The head spa is a ritual of Japanese origin dedicated to the scalp and neck. Unlike a simple wash, it combines warm water, oils, slow massage and a quiet setting to lead the body — and the mind — into a deep state of relaxation.
In Japan, caring for the scalp is as natural as caring for the skin of the face. It is skin, after all: it reacts to stress, tension and the pace of our days. The head spa gives it attention, with gestures inherited from a long tradition of wellness.
A typical session begins with a ritual cleanse, followed by a massage of the scalp, neck and shoulders. Water temperature, hand pressure and aroma are considered in detail. Many people fall asleep — what we call 'waking rest'.
At NAGI, in Cascais, the head spa is our signature. Try it in the Nagi Ritual, for two in the Head Spa for Couples, or paired with a facial in Head Spa + Facial.
